So how rigid are we going to be with the 'bookness' of this blog? i don't consider our book club a huge success, but i'd love to blog away about whatever we want. if you want this to be strictly book related, i'll delete this entry. But if you want to hear about my delicious dinner or my horrible failures, then i'll be posting daily. i'd love to hear about stupid things in your lives, so post away if you are willing.
So, today i actually did have my kind of dinner! it was so delicious! on paper it sounds a little undesirable, but in reality it was rico sauve. (i know that doesn't mean rich and delicious, but somehow in my family that is what it has come to mean.) we had fresh tomato soup, creamed spinach, orange sweet potatoes, and this whole grain toast. it sounds like i'm trying to be all healthnut vegetarian, but it was such a perfect balance and totally rich (heavy cream all the way around, lots of butter, brown sugar on the sw. potatoes) and i loved it. we had salmon burgers last night with this stuffed baked zucchini thing and i loved that too. we grilled (burned, actually) hambugers the night before. i really need to get the hang of the grill. the burned burgers were still good.
I saw a recipe on foodnetwork with rachel ray (?) that i tried and loved. it was ground chicken burgers (i used ground pork) with chopped dill havarti, chopped shallots, chopped mushrooms, and poultry seasoning all mixed into the burger. that was soo good. get on foodnetwork.com for the recipe. i think she calls it 'danish burger' or something like that. yum!
i went to bed last night at realized what a happy, perfect day i had! i got so much done and was nice to my kids and had a relatively clean house and ate well (except for our Haagen Daz/Godiva ice cream fest we had for FHE dessert!). I woke up on time and ran well. I made good progress with a few jewelry projects. It was great! I never have days like that! if i rush off, i may get some jewelry done tonight too! i'm on a roll.
today i finished this poncho i've been knitting. the yarn is really cute, but it hangs a little weird. i'll see if i can fix it. the blotch is supposed to be artsy.
i have been sick about the micheal woodbury news. when i was talking to sweet B about it, he told me that we have a pediphile in our stake to also worry about. he's been arrested 2 times, excommunicated, and will certainly do it again. it's horrible to worry about my kids. i can get myself pretty freaked out about it.
any good food ideas? any news anywhere? how are the pregnancies? anything????

Ahem...I think we've done pretty well on the book club. We've continued to read and that's our aim. So as long as we're reading good books...having fantastic recipe trades, art corner talk, and extremely inspired/ing convos (we're naturals at said activities), then we're all set.
I just recently started reading slate.com. It's el fantastico.
Also, some months ago shadeclothing.com hit a height of popularity among my friends in DC and NYC. Then Steph and I talked about them too. Big hit. They are shirts and tank tops featured in nude, white, and black and they are designed to exactly cover your garments so you don't have to tend to the constant tucking your shirt tug-of-war between getting up and down from sitting position. Just FYI.
love you all!
