Sneaky Sammy
Here are a few older photos of Sam acting funny and looking very suspicious. I post them because I wanted to share a hilarious thing that happened with him today that I didn't get a picture of.
We have a large wall, you could say, of decorative grapevines in our back yard. It's nice and full right now and does a great job of blocking the sun in the afternoons. It also has some tiny inedible green grapes growing on it. Today, Sam ripped off a few and showed them to me. I was working on the computer and quickly said that was nice and then back to what I was doing. About 5 minutes later I hear, "I put it in my nose." What?! Now he had my attention. I asked him to blow while I covered his other nostril. Nothing. I couldn't see it or feel it though. I rush Sam into Scott and tell him what happened. Scott tried the covering and blowing thing as well with no luck. I was still hoping that maybe Sam hadn't really put something up his nose but Scott could actually see that little green grape in there. We tried with tweezers but they would have just pushed it further in. Finally, I got a flat toothpick and Scott gently rolled the sucker out. Sam didn't mind at all! He, in fact, gave me a nice big smile while Scott was putting the icky tiny hard grape in the garbage. Crazy!! This sticking-stuff-up-my-nose was the first for us. Good thing it came out all right. Get it?..."came out all right." HA! I'm so funny!

Well, I just love when they stick stuff up their nose!! Dang. Sasha was the one we had troubles with. She did it several times. I think you know the stories. The first was a little plastic headlight from a toy car. Luckily, she sneezed while we tried to get it out and I told Vaughn to cover one nostril while she sneezed again and it flew out!
The grossest things were potato pearls from the cannery. If you dont know, these are tiny balls of dried potatoes you mix with water to make instant mashed potatoes. We had some in the cupboard and she spilled them. I cleaned them up and about fifteen minutes later Sasha had a really nasty nose which I thought was runny. On a closer look, I figured out it was actually mashed potatoes!! She had put some potatoe pearls up her nose and they eventually turned into mashed!!! NASTY!!
None of my kids have done this except Max. I dont' even remember what it was- but he came right to me and said "It is stuck up there" or something like that and I figured it out before it was jammed way up inside (what the heck was it? Now that is going to bug me..)
Glad it came out ok!
that is so cute! poor kid!
i'm sure you remember my nose story? mom could retell it better, i'm sure, but what i think happened is that i started to be stinky, like mold, and mom couldn't figure out why. she took me to the dr. and found that i had shoved a sponge up my nose and it was rotting. lovely. i think he tweezed it out or something, then i lived happily ever after. is that close, mom?
so far, my kids haven't stuck anything (not even fingers--haha!) in their noses. what angels.
