july 4th

july 4th in a small town feels like the fifties (or my image of the 50's, since i didn't exist then.) we went to a pancake breakfast, a main street parade, a citywide concert/demonstration event at bandshell park, a bbq with a bunch of friends, then fireworks on the hill. i went to bed feeling so thankful for my group of great friends, my sweet family, my happy life.

davis was in the parade, which was cute. the weather was perfect! we had friends visiting (the boy with davis and lila in the 2nd to last picture is davis's friend who moved to utah, but came to visit for the 4th), plus my niece, brighton, is here for the summer (she's the only in the dark picture with the sparkler). the little red headed boy is shannon's cute son, cade. the dark haired boy with lila is christen's son, hunter.

(see even more pictures on facebook.)

Yeah!!! new pictures! I love your small town too. but I really love and want your shoes!!! I am dying for hip and compfy lime green shoes because it is my favorite color. what brand are they and can we be twins?

answer from your comment on my post--Kath was in Utah but I thought she would be back by now. I was going to call her tonight but it took too long for Simon to fall asleep. She should be back soon!

they are el naturalista. you can buy them on amazon or probably locally at some outdoors-y kind of store. i wear a size 38, so you would be maybe a 36? you should see if you can find them in town so you can try them on. they are pretty $$, but they are super comfy! i have red ones, too. (you know how messed up my feet are, so when i find shoes that work, i'm very happy!)
