We are Webelos

About 3 weeks ago I found out Zac would move up out of scouts on his 11th birthday, not 12th birthday like I had thought. So we had only a few weeks to finish up a years worth of stuff he was supposed to be working on. It has been an unpleasant few weeks (and weekends) and as my dad said you saw the 'unpleasant side of scouting when a mom gets involved in scouts'. A Saturday went like this '9am-11 First Aid requirements, 11:30-1 go to the park to make a campfire and cook lunch, 2-4 work on handyman requirements (change lightbulb, check oil in car, assorted others) 5 go to pool to jump in with a floatation device to finish up Aquanaut requirements"

But at the Blue & Gold Banquet on Friday Zac got his Webelos badge (in addition to about 10 beltloops and 7 activity badges)

He is on track to also get his Arrow of Light next month.

Way to go, Zac!

I guess I should be anticipating all this kind of stuff but....it really seems like a lot of work. Good jerb, though! To Zac AND you!

Cute photo! There's something nostalgic about kids in Scout uniforms.
