Eight is Great!

Happy 8th Birthday Gretta! We had a nice relaxing birthday yesterday. Here is a small sampling of our afternoon.

Gretta picked BBQ'ed chicken, corn on the cob, strawberries, 7up and cold shrimp with cocktail sauce for dinner. She also picked mashed potatoes which I made but forgot to serve. While cleaning up the dishes I noticed them still sitting on the stove! Opps!

We made smores.

Opened gifts.

Ahh... a girl after my own heart. (These were on her list of gift options.)

We had strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. It was a great day for a truly great girl! We are arranging her baptism for next weekend and she is very excitted.

So cute! Happy 8th, Gretta! That's an important one! I bet Grandma and Grandpa have a tear in their eyes because they'll have to attend in spirit to your baptism.

Such a cutie!! And Steph, when are you going to mail me a piece of that yummy cake?

Happy very important birthday to a beautiful little girl. loved talking to you on the phone the other day. I miss being with you face to face during this week as you prepare to be baptized. Thank you for all the kind things that you do for the animals- from saving the spiders to finding little birds nests in the backyard. I love you so much. When we watch all the animals in our backyard here in Denmark, we think of you. Much love and happiness to you on your big day. We will talk to you again soon, Love Grandma
