food

I went to Des Moines today with my friend, Sue. We went to Costco and to Taki Steakhouse for delicious sushi. Does anyone else love sushi? This place is so delicious! I seriously crave it every week. Luckily, it's 45 minutes away so I only go about 1/month. My friend and I make this Costco, sushi, Cost Plus trip at least once a month, sometimes twice. It's the best day of my week.

We just found out that my kids' school is almost definitely closing next year. I'm furious about the whole thing! The process was completely rediculous! The decision was made before anyone in the community knew anything about it and our dipshit (it's not swearing when you put 'dip' in front) school board just agrees with everything our stupid superintendant says and they all pretend to care what the community wants, but don't acknowledge anything the community actually says. I'm so irritated! I don't know what I'm going to do for my kids, but I really want to take them out of the system just to take my funding away from this idiotic school district. I can't tell you how mad I am.

I'm busy finishing up Mother's Day jewelry. I have about 10 Mother's Necklaces I'm working on. I'll finish them tomorrow. It's going pretty slowly because yesterday I got a bad oil burn on my pointer finger on my right hand which is my 'polishing' finger for jewelry. I was trying to make a pork roast (first time!) and you have to sear it on all sides before roasting it. I dropped it in the pan and a huge splash of oil landed on my finger. The blister is about an inch long and it was really painful. When I woke up the next day the whole area was smaller then I expected so I was happy. I hate stupid accidents.

Nancy, I ordered your pearls today. I hope they're beautiful!
Kathy, any news? You haven't posted yet. Stephanie, I had a dream you were pregnant. So????

Love to all of you!

That sounded like a fun day! I had a great day yesterday becuase I was busy all day with good things.

I actually worked out for the first time in a long long time. Dad got me a "Boot Camp" excercise DVD for my birthday. I think he heard about it from Nick. Anyway, its pretty good and it is only a half an hour. Its a combo of weights and cardio which is what I have liked in the past. I can feel all my muscles today so you know its good!!!

I also worked out in my front yard planting some flowers and chopping down this thing I thought was a bush but was actually a weed. We have a whole planting area that is full of mint (which is also like a taking over weed)which Vaughn wants to cut down. I am not sure I want to tackle planting that whole area yet. It is a bigger area than I know what to do with and it is in shade most of the time. We'll see...

OK...So Tina what are your options for school? Will your kids have to go far away? Are you thinking about homeschooling? Where do they want all the kids to go?

My friend in Washington just found out that the school where her children are supposed to go already has ten (yes, TEN) kindergarten classes starting in the fall!! They are trying to get another school built but that one will obviously be filled already. Crazy!

Sorry about your finger. I hate that too. How'd your roast turn out? Did you like your roast and sauerkraut you made awhile ago? What'd you think?

As far as I know, I am not pregnant!!

Becoup d'amore!! (Is that right, Nan?)
