Pancakes and Ice Cream Trucks
So last night I was at a book club and we had a cake that was a little...custard-like and it reminded me that a while ago, I was chatting with one of my friends at a scrapbooking night. I don't know how we got on the subject but I told her about Emily's family's "cream filled" pancakes. She thought it was hilarious! That came up again at the book club last night.
I also told this friend that when an ice cream truck past Emily's house, her parents said that if you could hear the music it meant that they were OUT of ice cream. Hee, hee. Am I correct here, Emily?
Anyway, my friends thought these things were funny and it makes me laugh thinking about them both and watching people figuring out what cream-filled pancakes are. Emily's parents are sneaky. I felt a post was needed. :)

I too love these stories!! Mom just told my kids the ice cream truck story last week... so funny! But my kids already knew the truth! I also think of cream filled things when I have something not so done. smart! Emily's parents are awesome.
I knew somebody in Tucson whose family had a made up word for something and he never knew it was made up..well, not until college. Vaughn and I wish we had done that! When we lived in WA Jonah thought that Dairy Queen was called Ice Cream Cone City and we had a little song we would sing about it. But we forgot to keep that one going. Any other ideas?
Those cream filled pancakes do still make me laugh. It is all in how you sell it! The other day I was trying to get Max to eat breakfast told him he could have 'icecream' but then it was really yogurt. Also, whenever we need the kids to use sleeping bags on the floor (at a hotel or whatever) we always call them 'nests'
Now, the icecream man thing.. that was one of my sister's friends. Not my sneaky parents.
Hey, I should have posted my delicious family recipe 'Cream Filled Pancakes' on the food blog! Thanks a lot, now your pancake photo is making me hungry!
