Stuff that Doesn't Go in Ears

The next time you venture out to the grocery store to replenish your pantry with pasta, you might want to check for a warning on the box because, in case you didn't know, you should not put uncooked spaghetti into your ear...or anybody else's ear.

Last night I was looking forward to go to a Relief Society "summer foods" activity. I feel like I haven't left my house much this week...well, actually I really haven't left my house much this week, except to go to Target and I went with all 4 boys and it was crazy and I didn't have any room in my cart for stuff because my cart is full of kids and I left sweating.

Anyway, I really wanted to go to that activity. I had even made 2! dishes for it! One of the dishes included spaghetti in the recipe. While waiting for the pasta to cook, Jake asked me for the lone spaghetti stick that survived the boiling pot of water. I handed it to him then went to get prettied up for the night. Right after I put some concealer under my tired, I-have-a-3-month-old-that-keeps-me-up-at-night eyes, Jake comes running into the bathroom rattling off something that I couldn't hear very well because Cameron was totally screaming. Jake was just trying to help! He wasn't trying to hurt Cameron! He wasn't trying to make him cry...or bleed! Jake said he was just trying to get some ear wax out of Cameron's ear! Cameron was freaking out because Jake used a piece of that uncooked spaghetti to get the superfluous ear wax from Cameron's ear! It was still there when I checked him out! I pulled out the piece of pasta and the tip was covered in blood! And blood was dripping out! Scott grabbed Cameron and took him to the urgent care closest to our house. Needless to say, I didn't go to the activity BUT Jake didn't puncture Cameron's ear drum. He just scratched the skin inside the ear...and Cameron can still hear...so that's good.

Anyway, we are glad that everything was okay.

Oh, the adventures of having children...or is it "the adventures of having boys"? Either way, kids keep your heart rate running at a quick pace, don't they?
