Sacramento Tax Day TEA Party

The Sacramento Tax Day TEA Party was amazing. It was much more than I expected. I walked around half the time just feeling refreshed and surprised. I also experienced a third prominent sentiment: hopefulness. Seeing so many completely normal, respectful, and patriotic individuals and families unexpectedly inspired my hope for our country.

Except for what might have been used in private conversations, there was no foul language, no threatening behavior, no calls for violence, no vandalism -- I did not even see any littering! No mob here. Just nicely dressed adults and children, a lot of patriotic and bright colors, well performed music, and creative banners and costumes.

By my observation, and foundational to the festive atmosphere, the people were also expressing a profound sense of purpose. I don't think this movement will stop with the TEA Parties. I believe and hope that it's going to grow. Maybe we can preserve the foundations of liberty for at least one more generation in this country.

Stephanie asked me to post some of the photos I took. First, here are a few to give you an impression of the overall size and atmosphere of the event.

Great images, Vaugh! Your day looked sunnier than ours! But good to be out there!

I'm glad you were able to go. I'm proud to be part of such a 'redneck' family (according to mainstream media)
